The Pani ZED™ platform evaluates KPIs and Alert settings and will trigger alerts as thresholds are exceeded. Alerts are a great way to keep staff informed when systems or processes exceed limits. Alerts that are triggering generate an alert notification in the upper right-hand portion of the application, instantly notifying operators that there is an item needing their attention.

Introduction to Alerts

Alerts are categorized as either Critical, Warning, or Informational.

  • Critical - events that require immediate attention. On the Base platform, critical alerts are sent out via email as soon as they are triggered.
  • Warning - things that affect long-term performance or require action but are not essential to plant operations.
  • Informational - events that are important but do not require an action.

The user can extend the left side “System Overview” menu for a list of all assets and their current statuses. The assets will display a warning icon if there is an associated Insight with it. Red warning icons indicate a Critical Alert, Yellow if there is an associated Warning Alert, blue for Informational Alert and a green check mark if there are no warnings.

Creating Alerts

Here the user can create and setup alerts based on alert levels with options to email users of critical alerts. Alerts are based on KPIs exceeding user-defined thresholds. Both minimum and maximum threshold values are provided, along with options for resending alerts. The user also has the option of searching for Alerts in accordance to the assets in the search bar. This will help organize the Insights.

Alert Actions

There are several ways the user can address Alerts, this includes acknowledging the Alert, snoozing the Alert, removing the Alert if it is not applicable to normal plant operation, and viewing additional information in Interactive.

The user can Acknowledge the Alert. This essentially closes the alert and implies that corrective action is being taken. After Acknowledging an Alert, the user is presented with a dialog box to indicate how the issue was corrected. It is very important that the user complete the Acknowledge Message notes, as this information is retained for future analysis.

The user can Snooze the Alert for a selected period of time. The Alert will de-activate for the selected time period and will assert itself after the Snooze period has expired. Alerts can be Snoozed indefinitely, but will continue to assert at the end of each Snooze period.

The user can Remove the Alert completely. This action is typically taken if the alert message does not align with what is happening at the plant. This option allows plant operators to supply feedback to the Alert creator so that the Alert can be modified for better relevancy in the future.

The user can View more in Interactive, where you are taken to the Interactive page to review and access information on the Alert, which can include recommend actions to be taken.

It is important to note that Alert actions (Acknowledge, Snooze, Remove) are captured and maintained in the log database.

Alert Details

Depending on the alert,  Alert Details can provide graphical information pertaining to the alert. The user can further research the issue using a graph showing operating conditions prior to the alert triggering. The user can navigate around the graph and download for future reference or to send to other team members.
